Strictly: Ann Widdecombe reveals success secrets for MPs
Ed Balls has danced his Last Tango in Elstree, after losing out to Judge Rinder in Strictly’s dance off in week 10 of the show.
But he’s not the first political figure to make it this far. Ann Widdecombe, a former Conservative MP, was knocked out at the same stage in 2010.
She told 5 live Breakfast why she thinks politicians do well on the programme: "The secret of Strictly is to be yourself, first of all, and very often people haven't seen that side of you."
"Both Ed and I were doing very, very serious jobs and you don't lark about when you're doing a serious job,” she added. “Neither of us pretended to be proper dancers and if you go for making great fun of it and giving people fun, then of course they'll love it."
