Daily Show’s Trevor Noah: I cried twice writing my book
Trevor Noah has said he cried while writing about the domestic abuse of his mother for his book ‘Born a Crime’.
The ex-stepfather of Trevor Noah Abel Shingange domestically abused his mother Patricia for years and when she left, he tracked her down and shot her in the face and back, shattering her jaw. Shingange was sentenced to three years of correctional supervision after pleading guilty to an attempted murder charge in August 2009.
The Daily Show host told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5 live’s Nihal Arthanayake:
“I think the reason I still wrote about it was because there are so many people who are not talking about it."
