Francois Fillon wins French primary, promising reforms
In France, the new leader of the centre-right party and former prime minister, Francois Fillon, is proposing dramatic economic reforms and has told his supporters France needs to be overhauled. He wants to slash up to half a million public jobs, end the 35-hour week and raise the retirement age. Dan Damon asked Anne Elisabeth Moutet, Paris correspondent for the Daily Telegraph, whether his policies are likely to be seen as matching those of his opponent in the National Front, Marine Le Pen.
