Election avoider 'wanted blissful ignorance'

A man from Georgia avoided friends and social media after deciding not to find out the US election result.

Speaking to 5 live's Dotun Adebayo, Joe Chandler said he could only text safely with his daughter.

'She did feed me tidbits of information about the mayhem, the riots... but she very carefully missed out her words so as not to tip the scales one way or another.'

Joe lasted for 12 days before finding out Donald Trump had won - he found out by accident.
