Malnourished Iraqi boys now receiving treatment
Two young boys, who had fled Mosul in war-torn Iraq and were suffering from extreme malnutrition, are now receiving treatment in hospital after UNICEF intervention.
5 live discovered the boys, aged just two and nine, at the Hassan Sham refugee camp outside the city. Their mother claimed they had not eaten for a month.
They are now in a hospital in the city of Erbil and their doctor told 5 live Drive the boys were “skin and bone.â€
“No muscle and no protein is left. We will start by giving them milk, then slowly we can give them minerals and vitamins.â€
