'Southgate is an outstanding psychologist'
Gareth Southgate is an "outstanding psychologist", according to Michael Caulfield - an expert in the field.
Caulfield, who has worked with the new England manager in the past, also lamented Southgate's "too nice" tag.
"He treats every person as an individual. As a young manager the one thing he did do was build trust with players because he understands that playing at the very highest level is not easy under scrutiny," Caulfield told Eleanor Oldroyd on 5 live Sport.
"Him being too nice is the biggest misconception going around about Gareth Southgate. He's got class, he's got manners, he's got respect running through his veins for other people, but the fact you can hold a normal conversation with him is by no means a setback."
