Adama Barrow: From Argos to president
Adama Barrow has been elected as president of The Gambia - 15 years after tackling shoplifters as a security guard in a London branch of Argos.
Barrow's election ended 22 years of authoritarian rule in the country and he will lead a coalition of seven parties in government.
The Guardian's West Africa Correspondent Ruth McLean told 5 live: 鈥淏arrow came to the UK because he couldn't make very much money in The Gambia, so he came for a few years to work and do some courses before going back in 2006."
She added: "He owns an estate agency in Banjul 鈥� that鈥檚 actually what he did with the money that he made working in Argos."
