Keaton Jennings’ mum misses his debut century after power cut
The mother of England batsman Keaton Jennings has described the moment a power cut meant she missed her son’s Test debut century. Keaton was on 96 when the electricity cut out, and Alison told 5 live Drive “there was some colourful language” when the lights went out.
Keaton became only the 8th England opener to make a century on his Test debut, after only being called up to the squad on ten days’ notice. He struck 112 as England made 288 for 5 on the 1st day of the 4th Test in Mumbai.
Alison has since spoken to her son and said he’s in a “really happy space and feeling very excited with his day and how things have gone.”
