6ft Christmas tree grows to 50ft
A couple in Worcestershire who planted a Christmas tree in their front garden in 1978 now have to decorate it using a cherry picker - after it grew to 50ft tall.
The tree towers over their house and helps light up their village. It even had a light switch on this year, which 200 people attended.
Speaking to ѿý 5 live's Adrian Chiles, Avril Rowlands said she bought the small fir tree for just £6.
"It's taken 38 years. Trees do grow, if you provide them with lots of water.”
