Do police officers need degrees?
All new police officers in England and Wales will need to have completed a degree from 2020, the College of Policing has announced.
The college says this will help police officers deal with the increasingly cyber nature of modern crime, but Chris Spinks, who rose to Chief Inspector in the Norfolk constabulary, says it's "too much too soon".
"We are going to be missing out on a whole raft of excellent recruits," he told Radio 4's PM programme.
