Oscar move from Chelsea to China ‘a joke’ – Green

Commentator Alan Green on Oscar’s proposed move from Chelsea to the Chinese Super League.

Oscar’s proposed move from Chelsea to the Chinese Super League has been labelled ‘a joke’ by ѿý Radio 5 live commentator Alan Green.

The midfielder says he is "90% certain" to move to Shanghai SIPG in January with the fee for the 25-year-old Brazilian around £60m.

“It’s an absolute joke, Chinese football is a joke,” Green said.

“Oscar at 25 has said goodbye to the Chelsea players.

“He’s going to take a fortune from China, how is that going to further his career?

“Utterly ridiculous,” he added.

In response, former England defender Danny Mills defended players moving to China.

“If someone is going to offer you triple your pay, you’d be gone tomorrow.

“We all work in life in to retire.

“You have to admire the likes of Hulk and Oscar who have maybe come from very poor families, and they’re thinking we can make as much money as possible in a very short space of time and secure our families future for life.

“Because of the extreme amounts of money, people will always have their heads turned,” Mills continued.
