Why I tattooed my organ donor card on my arm
Paul Dixon is so passionate about getting more people to sign up to the organ donor register, he has had his donor card tattooed to his arm.
Speaking to 5 live’s Adrian Goldberg, Paul said he hopes the tattoo will help more people “stop and talk” to him as he volunteers in two Merseyside hospitals to promote the cause.
Since 2013, Paul has encouraged 6,000 people to join the register but says he still has a long way to go as “there’s still about 41 million people not on it.
“The sad thing is three people on average die every day because not enough organs are available and I’m not happy with that… If there were more people on the register, more transplants could take place.”
