The UK should 'move on' from opposing Assad
Peter Ford, who was the UK's ambassador to Syria until 2006, says the time has come for the UK to drop its opposition to Assad, and lift sanctions on Syria.
"We have clung for too long to the illusion" of a moderate opposition, he told Radio 4's PM programme, accusing Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and Prime Minister Theresa May of "losing grip on reality".
