How long would you go without washing your hair?
Former Conservative MP Matthew Parris has told 5 live he has not washed his hair for over 20 years.
Mr Parris stopped washing his hair after a jungle trek where he was unable to get hold of shampoo. He explained what happened to his hair:
“The hair got greasier and greasier and after about 10 days it stopped getting greasy. It then began to get less greasy and eventually it went back to how it had been before.”
The market for shampoo, conditioner and hair-styling products has dropped by £23 million over the past year. The drop has been linked to more women working from home and the decline of smoking.
