In 1984 Kevin Bacon shot to stardom when he landed a leading role in the box-office smash Footloose. Since then his popularity has risen and fallen, but he has racked up over 80 film credits and is the inspiration of the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game which asserts that he can be connected to any celebrity in six steps or less. He talks to Rajesh Mirchandani about the strange game of fame.
