Ronda Rousey loses UFC return in 48 seconds
Ronda Rousey's comeback after a year away from UFC lasted just 48 seconds after Amanda Nunes stopped her in the first round in Las Vegas.
Mixed-martial arts journalist Philip O’Connor said: “Something seemed to be wrong the whole time, she didn’t want to do any of the media stuff and when she got into the octogan, from the off it didn’t go her way.”
Philip described her as “indescribably huge” in the sport, which is part of the reason former Women’s bantamweight champion earned $3 million for the fight.
It wasn’t to be Rousey’s night though, with Philip adding: “Nunes took to her boxing and Ronda wasn’t prepared for it. Amazingly enough, she stood there going ‘how is this girl hitting me, and how does she keep hitting me?’”
