Louise Hazel: 'I would advise athletes to withdraw from The Jump'
Olympic heptathlete and former runner up of The Jump, Louise Hazel, has advised athletes Jade Jones, Bradley Wiggins and Kadeena Cox, to "withdraw from the competition".
Hazel, who was runner-up in the Channel 4 skiing competition two years ago, told 5 live's Nihal Arthanayake and Eleanor Oldroyd that the risk for competing athletes is "too great".
She herself suffered a whiplash injury when competing in the show, with other athletes such as Olympic gymnast, Beth Tweddle, suffering serious neck injuries. Hazel said: "You kind of think, yeah it’s a skiing trip, you know that there’s going to be risks. It’s not a matter of will you get hurt – yes you will – it’s a case of when".
