Whipsnade Zoo's annual animal count
Whipsnade Zoo, home to more than 300,000 animals, began its annual stocktake this week.
More than 300 different species are kept at the zoo in Bedfordshire and some are easier to count than others.
This year will be the first time baby Asian elephant Elizabeth and giraffe calf Nuru are included in a count, along with three newly hatched West African dwarf crocodiles, a gaur (the world's largest cow) and a red panda cub.
