Since the local elections in May last year there have been 190 council by-elections, held across England, Wales and Scotland.
Daily Politics presenter Andrew Neil looks at which parties are doing well, or not so well, at the ballot box.
He also discusses what the results mean for parties nationally with Professor Tony Travers from the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and the journalists Gaby Hinsliff and Isabel Oakeshott.
