'Exorcist' author dies
The 1973 film version of the book won two Oscars, including one for its screenplay which Blatty also wrote.
Despite a troubled production and a muted launch, the film went on to become one of the highest grossing in history and is considered by critics to be a classic horror movie. Our Arts Editor, Vincent Dowd, reports:
