Lescott: I don't regret joining Aston Villa
Former Aston Villa defender Joleon Lescott says it wasn't a mistake to join his boyhood club despite suffering relegation and falling out with the fans.
The former England international infuriated supporters when he accidentally tweeted a picture of a car shortly after a 6-0 home defeat to Liverpool.
Villa lost their ever-present Premier League status, finishing bottom having won just three matches.
"I wanted to give the fans an insight about the pain I, as a fan, was going through. Obviously, at times, I didn't choose my words right," he added.
The two-time Premier League winner is currently without a club after a short stint with Greek side AEK Athens.
