French journalist Julien Laurens says the West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet is happy to take a pay cut in order to return to former club, Marseille. Laurens cited family unhappiness as the motivation for his return to France.

Laurens said: "He still hasn鈥檛 settled, his family hasn鈥檛 settled, the children are not happy in school here his wife isn鈥檛 happy either. They all went back to France, they鈥檙e already looking at houses and schools.

"I keep hearing about 鈥榤ercenaries鈥� but Payet will take a pay cut to go back to Marseille. It鈥檚 not about the money, the money has nothing to do with it."
