How to find out if you have lactose intolerance
Lactose intolerance is a sensitivity to the sugar found in milk and dairy products. But much of what most people understand is likely to be based on the burgeoning number of ads for lactose-free products and features in magazines outlining the potential benefits for anyone prone to an upset stomach. Anton Emmanuel, Gastroenterologist at University College London, reveals exactly how many of us really do have a lactose intolerance and a dietitian explains the best method to work out if you have one. Dr Mark Porter and Dr Margaret McCartney look at the evidence.
