Will President Trump be good for UK exports?

UK businesses are optimistic about Donald Trump's presidency, at least that is the view one Staffordshire businessman, who told 5 live's Colletta Smith that he expects President Trump to be “good for business". Paul Farmer is the managing director of Wade Ceramics in Stoke on Trent, which currently exports 25% of its products to America.

Charles Boneham from Boneham & Turner backed up this point of view, as he also expects the new President to be good for trade. He said "there's a lot of optimism, and with optimism comes confidence and people start spending" on exports.

Currently the UK exports about $50 billion worth of goods to the US every year, and is the second biggest export market after the EU.
