'Rooney breaks Charlton’s record in Fergie time and they were both here to see it'
Former Premier League defender Danny Mills has reacted to Wayne Rooney's record breaking 250th goal for Manchester United - a record that had stood since 1973.
"Without a doubt, I mean he’s a quality player. You know as I said he’s had an awful lot of critics this season. For England, broke that record. He’s now broke the record for Manchester United. He’s still an outstanding talent.
"Fantastic goal, probably what Manchester United deserve, they weren’t really clinical enough but Rooney breaks Charlton’s record in Fergie time and they were both here to see it," said Mills
Second half substitute Rooney curled in from the left-hand corner of the penalty box for his 250th United goal, one more than Sir Bobby Charlton.
