EU trade: Lessons from Ukraine
On announcing that the UK is to leave the single market, Theresa May said she wanted a "frictionless" trade with the European Union.
Ukraine is one of the places where a free trade deal exists with the EU. The EU-Ukraine Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) aims to boost trade between the EU and Ukraine by gradually cutting tariffs and bringing Ukraine in line with EU standards in many economic policy areas. The EU is also Ukraine's biggest trade partner.
So what can the UK learn from Ukraine's association agreement with the EU?
