Scotland must be 'equal partner' on Brexit

The former First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond has insisted that Theresa May take Scotland's wishes into account in Brexit negotiations.

Speaking to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Newsnight's Evan Davis, he said the Scottish government wants to remain in the EU customs unions - even if the rest of the UK leaves.

Mr Salmond said if there is no deal agreed on access for Scotland to the customs union, then the SNP would win an independence referendum within the next two years.
