Here's how to stay safe when driving in the dark
Britain's roads are a lot darker; one in three of the UK's six million street lights are either switched off or dimmed at night. Now, more than half of councils are planning to reduce their street lighting even more.
Ex-Le Mans driver Amanda Stretton revealed some of the ways she learnt to drive safely in the dark through her participation in the 24-hour race.
She said: "The Key is don't look into the lights of the on-coming traffic" and "slow down."
Stretton also suggested "night vision glasses" have helped some motorists to drive at night.
