Do protests and petitions make any difference?
Millions of people have been marching recently in protest at Donald Trump's election and his subsequent executive orders. In the United Kingdom alone, more than one million have signed a petition aimed at blocking his state visit there. But are such actions an effective way of bringing about change? Julian Baggini is a philosopher and writer. He told Dan Damon why he doubted it.
