On the tenth anniversary of the final tv sports programme Grandstand, there have been calls for it to be revived.

One commentator said the format would not work anymore because modern society is too impatient to spend an afternoon in front of one programme. Others say it would give airtime to less popular sports.

Barry Davies, commentated for Grandstand on a variety of sports and he welcomes the idea of the programme's return, saying "lots of sports would benefit from it".
