 
                    
                Does having an anglicised name make it easier to get a job?
Rachel or Bushra? Adam or Mohammad? Would you change your name to land a job? A ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ inside Out research found that a job seeker with an English sounding name was offered three times the number of interviews than an applicant with a Muslim name. Inside Out London sent CVs from two candidates, "Adam" and "Mohamed", who had identical skills and experience, in response to 100 job vacancies. Adam Henton received twelve interview invites, Mohammad Allam only got four.
Rachel was a popular English name amongst our callers who had changed their names - but not everyone agreed that changing your name makes it easier to get a job.
