Eddie Jones remembers 'outstanding' van der Westhuizen
South African scrum-half Joost van der Westhuizen was an "absolutely outstanding" player, according to England head coach Eddie Jones.
The former Springboks captain died on Monday at the age of 45, six years after he was diagnosed with the debilitating motor neurone disease.
Van der Westhuizen won the World Cup with South Africa in 1995 and was regarded as one of the finest scrum-halves in history, winning 89 caps between 1993 and 2003 and scoring 38 tries.
Jones coached against Van der Westhuizen in Super Rugby and said the Bulls team were a "completely different animal with him in the team".
"It's just so sad to hear of his death," Jones added. "You really feel for his family and for South African rugby".
