"We've built up over 40,000 followers selling clothes"

Teenagers often buy cheap disposable fashion. When they do dispose of it, they don’t throw it away – they sell it, to other teenagers on new websites and mobile phone apps. One of the most popular is Depop: it’s a social media platform where you can sell clothes under your own brand name, and sellers build up big followings. Depop started in Italy, but opened up an office in London in 2012 and now has more than five million users worldwide. 90% of users are under the age of 25 and some are entrepreneurs making a living from the site. Sisters Bo and Eve Brearley from London are two of the rising stars of Depop and have more than 40,000 followers. Eve, who is now 18, started selling clothes two years ago when Bo, now 21, left home for university. Eve told Winifred Robinson what happened.
