Teachers in at least two schools in England have started to wear police-style body cameras to help reduce "constant low level disruption."

Tom Ellis, a criminal justice researcher at the University of Portsmouth, who revealed the trial, told 5 live:

鈥淭he teachers will be wearing the cameras very visibly so there is no attempt to be covert. The whole idea is the fact that everyone is aware it is being used for a specific incident.鈥�

The cameras used in the three month trial are not in constant use, only being switched on when required.

He added: 鈥淥ne use of the evidence is as part of a disciplinary proceeding within the school. We are into an era where we are used to video evidence and it is part of a greater use of technology in daily life.鈥�
