Howard Webb - 'Mark Clattenburg could not have disallowed' Sanchez's goal
Former Premier League referee Howard Webb has backed Mark Clattenburg's decision to award Arsenal's Alex Sanchez a goal which was scored with the player's hand.
Sanchez's goal was the first in a 2-0 victory over Hull and was scored after a low shot from Kieran Gibbs ricocheted off Hull's goalkeeper. The ball bounced off the ground, into Sanchez's hand and into the net.
"He knew nothing about it. The laws of the game state that handball has to be deliberate" argued Webb.
