Why pupils suggested a social media ban
The headmistress of a private girls school has told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ 5 live how pupils concerns over social media addiction, led to the school banning all mobile phones.
The week-long experiment "phone fast" will see all phones being collected by staff and social media sites blocked on the school internet.
Speaking to 5 live's Sam Walker, Headmistress of Benenden School, Samantha Price, said that not all pupils are for the ban.
"I’ve been having tea with different groups, I've been drip feeding the idea and there is a little bit of trepidation."
