The Bank of England says it will not withdraw the 拢5 note despite concerns it contains animal fat. The bank says it will be adding a 拢10 note which contains animal fat too. Vegans and some religious groups had voiced concerns, as the note contains tallow, which is derived from meat products. There was a petition to ban the note which got more than 130,000 signatures.
