Ugly Duck Competition Rules

Please read our terms and conditions if you are entering the Mark Murphy Ugly Duck competition.

1Entry is open to all UK residents (including Channel Islands and the Isle of Man), except ѿý employees or those of its affiliates and their close relatives or any person connected to the competition. Proof of age, identity and eligibility may be requested.Listeners cannot enter the competition if they have been a winner of Mark Murphy's Ugly Duck competition within the previous 90 days.

2The competition will run during Life's a Pitch (Saturdays 12:00-14:00) on ѿý Radio Suffolk from 3 March 2017; subject to editorial changes to the show and/or the schedule.

3During the show, an archive clip of Ipswich Town commentary will be played out on-air. Listeners can enter the competition to find out “Who’s goal is it” following the instructions given out on-air, by calling the number: 01473 212121. Standard geographic charges from landlines and mobiles will apply.No other method of entry will be accepted. Only one entry is allowed per listener. Please ask permission from the bill-payer before entering.

4The competition is only open during the times announced on-air. Entries received outside these times will not be registered but will still be charged. The opening and closing times may change so please listen to announcements during the show.

5After the competition closes, a winner will be randomly selected from all the entries that correctly identified the answer from the clue given. The winner will be announced on-air during showat 13:40 and will be expected to go on-air at around that time.

6If, after reasonable attempts have been made, a winner cannot be contacted or is unable to take-up the prize, the prize will be offered to another randomly selected entrant.

7The ѿý's decision as to the winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.

8The prize will be as advertised during the show and will usually consist of a Mark Murphy Ugly Duck.

9There is no cash alternative and the prize cannot be sold or transferred in any circumstances.

10The ѿý will not be responsible for any failure by the ticket holders to gain entry or re-entry to the event due to the behaviour of the ticket holder or their failure to meet the admission requirements of the event, including minimum age of the ticket holders. Ticket holders are responsible for checking admission requirements to the venue.

11Entrants must agree to take part in any post-competition publicity if required.

12The ѿý reserves the right to: (i) vary these competition terms and conditions including, but not limited to, the opening and closing times; (ii) disqualify any entrant who breaches the rules, appears to be receiving help in answering or cheating in any other way whilst on air (in the ѿý's sole discretion) or has acted fraudulently in any way; (iii) disqualify any entrant who exhibits any inappropriate language or behaviour and; (iv) cancel the competition, at any stage, if in its opinion it is deemed necessary or if circumstances arise outside its control.

13The ѿý, its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered.

14The ѿý will ask for your name and contact number, which will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. The ѿý will only use personal details for the purposes of administering this competition and in accordance with the ѿý’s Privacy & Cookies Policy. The ѿý will only ever keep your personal details for as long as is necessary to fulfil those purposes. The ѿý will never pass your personal information to a third party without your prior permission. 16The promoter of the competition is the British Broadcasting Corporation and the applicable law is the laws of England and Wales.

17Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when registering.
