Three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton says Formula One 鈥榟as a lot of catching up to do鈥� in comparison to other sports as a form of entertainment, as it enters a new era.

US group Liberty Media completed an $8bn (拢6.4bn) takeover of the sport ahead of the start of the 2017 season, with Chase Carey becoming the new chairman.

鈥淚鈥檓 excited for the new owners coming in,鈥� said Hamilton.

鈥淚 really think they can bring new ideas and new ways of engaging with fans.

鈥淔ormula One is a bit outdated if you look at other sports.

鈥淭hey鈥檙e further ahead in the entertainment factor.

鈥淔ormula One is catching up and it has a lot of catching up to do I think,鈥� he added.
