.
Houston was nominated in the Short Film category, for her directorial effort Tuesday Morning Ride: but out of 166 nominees she was the only black person shortlisted.

Speaking to 5 live's Colin Patterson Dianne said: 鈥淲hen I walked the red carpet, I wasn鈥檛 just walking for me, I was walking for this incredible community.鈥

In 2015 and 2016 every acting nominee was white. However, in 2017 a record six black actors are nominated. However, Houston questions whether this is a sign or change or a one-off.

鈥淭he question that comes up is, 鈥榠sn鈥檛 this phenomenal how things has changed?鈥 The real question is 鈥榳ill this kind of change sustain in Hollywood?鈥 added Dianne.
