Raymond Briggs, creator of Fungus the Bogeyman, the Snowman, and many other much loved stories, was recently honoured with a lifetime achievement award by the Book Trust for his outstanding contribution to children's literature.
Now in his eighties, he is working on something altogether more adult than his usual fare - a darkly comic meditation on age and death.
