An army widow has told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ 5 live...
Lindsey Roberts is suing the Ministry of Defence as she says her five miscarriages were caused by her husband's post traumatic stress disorder.
The widow of a former Royal Marine has told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ 5 live that she's suing the Ministry of Defence because she claims her five miscarriages were caused by her husband's post traumatic stress disorder.
Lindsey Roberts had three children with Corporal Andrew Roberts, but believes her miscarriages were caused by her late husband lashing out when he had night terrors.
Speaking to 5 live's Emma Barnett, Lindsey said: "It's very important for people to realise he was asleep. He wasn't awake. He was completely unaware of what he was doing and he would be absolutely distraught when he'd see the bruises and things coming up."
An investigation into Lindsey's miscarriages failed to find a medical reason. Lindsey believes that "the main element is the PTSD that went untreated. [He] has gone through so much suffering over those years and not been treated."
The Ministry of Defence told 5 live that they wouldn't comment on a specific legal case, but "the mental health of everyone who serves our country is of the utmost importance, and that's why we encourage anyone needing help to come forward and get the assistance they deserve before, during and after deployments."
