Bellew: I've beaten one of the best ever
After his 11th round victory over David Haye, Tony Bellew said he has beaten one of the best boxers the UK has ever produced.
WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew produced a stunning upset to stop bitter rival David Haye in a thrilling heavyweight contest at London's O2 Arena.
Speaking at ringside after the fight, Bellew told 5 live’s Mike Costello : “I’m honoured because in my eyes I’ve beaten the best cruiserweight this country has ever produced.â€
Both fighters put aside their pre-fight trash talking to embrace after the fight and Haye paid tribute to Bellew:
“I dished out my best effort and it wasn’t good enough and he beat me fair and square. Credit to him he had more than I had tonight.â€
