Creating AI vision for the blind
Marx Melencio, a blind IT developer in the Philippines is developing a software that he hopes will offer life-changing independence to blind people. It uses artificial intelligence to convert images from a smartphone into a verbal description of what is in front of the user. Marx Melencio, who lost his sight in 2003, speaks to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Fergus Nicoll about the work in progress.
