A UK backpacker was raped, assaulted and choked during a two-month hostage ordeal in Australia, police have said.

Megan Palin is a journalist from News Corp Australia. She told Eddie Mair that the authorities were first alerted after the woman went into a petrol station with visible facial injuries.
