Darrell Hamilton Jr probably wishes he'd taken an air sickness pill before proposing to his partner Rheanna Lopez on board a small plane.

The proposal had taken a year to organise but unfortunately Darrell's plans stalled when he started vomiting at the precise moment he decided to pop the question, with the less-than-magical moment captured in a YouTube video.

The 26-year-old blames his travel sickness on using his gadgets too much. "I didn't even get a chance to ask Rheanna," he said. "I just tapped her on the shoulder and showed her the ring and that's when I let it all go."

It was perhaps fortunate the couple were forced to cut the flight short - Rheanna missed Darrell's sign on the ground that read "Merry me" instead of "Marry me".

Thankfully, the story did have a happy ending - Rheanna said yes.
