Excessive drinkers 'not welcome' at Cheltenham Festival
Cheltenham racecourse has imposed a limit on buying alcohol and have said those who come to drink too much are "not welcome" at this year's event.
A limit of four alcoholic drinks at a time will be imposed on visitors buying a round of drinks. Complimentary hospitality bars will also close earlier.
The restrictions have been brought in following a couple of incidents at last year’s festival.
Ian Renton, the Managing Director of Cheltenham Racecourse, told 5 live Breakfast:
“If you want to come here just to drink too much, you're not welcome. If you want to come here and drink as part of a wonderful day out, you won't notice anything different to what you've been doing previously."
