Nottingham boy to become world's youngest conductor
11-year-old Matthew Smith, from Nottingham, said he is excited rather than nervous before becoming the world's youngest orchestra conductor.
The Grade 5 violinist will conduct the overture for Nottingham Symphony Orchestra's performance of Die Fledermaus at the city's Royal Concert Hall. He would beat the current record holder, who is a teenager from Venezuela.
