Famous Gainsborough damaged in attack
An 18th century painting by Thomas Gainsborough on display at the National Gallery in London was damaged in an attack at the weekend.
Dr Gabriele Finaldi, director of the National Gallery, told Eddie Mair that the attack had left "two scratches" on the surface of the work, forming "a large X".
Dr Finaldi described how the painting - which is one of Gainsborough's "most famous" - was being repaired and said he hoped it would be on display again within a week.
