Author Val McDermid leads tributes to 'Morse' creator
Colin Dexter, the creator of "Inspector Morse", has died aged 86.
Author Val McDermid told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5 live's Phil Williams: "He loved 'The Archers'. He and I would have lengthy conversations about the complexities of the characters. We used to have an ongoing joke of who we would kill this week on the programme."
She added: "He was funny. He was mischievous. He wasn't as grumpy as Morse by a very, very long way."
